The PWA01 is a High-End mono power amplifier based on an all transistor vintage amplifier design with up-to-date modern components like dual Toshiba TTA002 and TTC002 power transistors. Although the specifications of this amplifier are very good, more attention has been spend to the sound of this product by listening tests and selecting the best sounding components rather than by measuring and developing to the best electrical properties. This creates a particularly good sounding amplifier that can compete with many expensive products in the High-End market.
The unit is completely hand build and soldered to ensure the best possible quality.
Using a solid power suppy, e.g. Audio products PSP01 or PSP02 and a large 500 to 1000VA toroidal transformer this unit is capable of driving the most difficult of speaker systems with ease.
An additional circuit boad is integrated that incorporates speaker protection circuitry like DC on output, clipping and short circuit protection. It also provides signaling protection status to the power supply controllers IRC01B or IRC01C.
